Promotion World Tutorial: Benefits of Discussion List Posting

There are many benefits to posting to discussion lists. Here I will briefly go over a few:

1. You become known as an expert in your field of work. For example, you may show people on a discussion list about beetles how to revive a sick beetle. If you post helpful answers to problems like that on a regular basis, you may just come to be known as The Beetle Doctor.

And that is something that everyone should aspire to be. Umm... anyway, moving on!

2. You receive traffic to your website, usually through your signature file. We will talk more about that later.

3. You can increase your knowledge of the subject you are talking about. When you are subscribed to a discussion list on your subject of interest, it is very likely that you will learn new things also. That's a good thing. Where you can, answer questions and receive some free promotion, but if you don't know what you are talking about, it is probably best to still your fingers and let someone else answer it.

Learn from them. Then, if you see the question asked elsewhere, you will know how to answer it!
