Okay, you have your Meta Tags. There is more to it then that, however. Some search engines don't use Meta Tags, and others don't put much relevancy on them.

So you need to optimize your site in other ways.

You need to make sure your page title includes as many of your keywords as you can fit, WITHOUT making it look too noticeable, or you might turn off the visitors to your website.

Using the beetle example, you might use the title:

A Guide to Raising and Selling Beetles - A Fun and Enjoyable Hobby!

Keep it short; you need to make sure it fits into people's browser windows.

Most search engines put a lot of weight on the keywords contained in the page title. You need to take advantage of that and put all you can in there. Simply putting "Welcome To My Site" won't give you a very good chance at getting a good listing.

You also need to put as many keywords as you can in the main text of your page. Don't do it so many times that the text sounds bad, but try to work them in. It will really help your tt on a number of the engines.

You may be starting to get the idea that you should use your keywords wherever you can. That's great, because that's the idea you should have! They are very important.

You need to take the time to choose the right keywords NOW, because if you submit your site to the search engines without proper Meta Tags and poor keywords, it could take you months to fix it.
